About 40 young pupils at Anchorage Park Primary School in Pakuranga were delighted to receive their colorful Rotary-sponsored dictionaries at a special assembly this Monday ( 8 August).
Representing Pakuranga Rotary Club Peter Woodcock and Bill Duncan presented the dictionaries to two year levels as Covid prevented any distribution in 2021.

Peter told the pupils about Rotary as a global club and the special focus given to literacy by Bill Boyd in his year as World President in 2007/8.

He encouraged them to make good use of the gift to build up their knowledge of words which are the source of power in so many ways.

The enthusiastic opening and examination of the dictionaries once received created a real buzz among the happy pupils who on leaving the hall were effusive with their thanks.

For the Rotarians, as always it was a heart-warming experience.
