Following a lengthy period where most members have been firmly locked in New Zealand, Mondays presentation by Chris Ward about a cruise to Antartica was hopefully the start of Rotary meetings as members best enjoy them.
Chris and Joy took an amazing cruise to a part of the world that fascinates us all but which few of us get to visit. The cruise while having the fun of on-board ship like and food differed from most in that there was a strong educational and environmental aspect.
That along with the opportunity to be ferried on small semi rigid inflatable boats onto the ice and to kayak amongst the icebergs definitely set this trip apart. A cruise to Antartica might well now have been added to a number of members bucket lists.
