As we as a club have "matured" [aged] and changed from how we once were, raising funds for our local, national and international communities has become more difficult.
Therefore past President Govind's efforts with the Diwali function are to be especially celebrated. With a small team from our club, tremendous support from his wife Sandhya and by roping in friends from other clubs and from outside Rotary he bought together a great evening of fun, food, entertainment and celebration.
As President I get invited to other clubs fundraising activities, a recent Melbourne Cup event by the Rotary Club of Botany Downs being a great example. A large crowd and great energy with a sizeable sum raised.
