Speaker: PDG Peter Garnett MBE.
Topic: ”What the doctor ordered: How plants can help hospital patients recover”.
Peter, a member of the Rotary Club of North Shore, and PDG of 9910, took a leading role in the development of New Zealand’s first “healing garden” at North Shore Hospital. Designed as a haven away from the noise of the hospital the garden covers 110 square-metres and has more than 500 plants. The Club raised a significant amount towards the garden.
Although not part of the plan, Peter found himself enjoying the indoor healing garden while a patient at the hospital. Peter is District PolioPlus Chair, District Grants Chair, Chair New Zealand Region, Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children (ROMAC), and Regional Rotary Foundation Coordinator 2021-24.
