Denis Gianoutsos
On Monday 20th October, a well attended meeting, including visitors from Highbrook and Somerville, was treated to an exposition on leadership change from Denis Gianoutsos. the CEO of Leading Change Partners. Bringing a background of extensive experience in business coaching and developing Hewlett Packard’s executives and leaders globally, Denis emphasized that the ability to adapt to change is the difference between surviving as a leader and thriving as a leader.

Denis started a podcast during the Pandemic to ensure his voice and advocacy was being heard-leadership is being a voice of influence.

There are 470 podcasts available on the Leading Change Partners website (https://www.leadingchangepartners.com/podcast) which includes interviews with leaders from around the world.

The organisations which thrived during lockdown were those where there was basic trust between all those within the company, and instilling that trust to accept and embrace change requires courage and a willingness to take action. Standing still means going backwards. Those in attendance heard a dynamic and thought provoking presentation from an international coach of leaders.
Scribes Report -small delay
At last Mondays meeting we had a great talk by Keith Ingram addressing the issue of the decline in the Hauraki fish stock.
The news was not good.

Keith's presentation included a number of really good images which I would like to include in a Bulletin report.

As soon as I have those I will add them to a full report on an issue that clearly was of high interest to members and include that in the next Bulletin.
Outgoing Student
Immediate Past President Mike Collins introduced Keri Barrett to the club as our outgoing exchange student heading to Denmark.

Keri lives with her parents Bruce and Helen, sister Mara and Cleo the dog in Beachlands and excels at Howick College.
She is looking forward to the opportunities presented by Rotary’s student exchange program in enabling her to experience Danish culture, build confidence and connections and enhance knowledge and understanding.
Golf Day
The planning and organisation of the annual golf day fund raising event is well under way.

The organising committee are still looking for additional sponsors.

If you have a contact that you think might be will to assist let Alan Davies know and the team will do the follow up.
Members might also like to consider getting together and jointly sponsoring a hole - at $1000/ hole.
The Bulletin Needs Your Help !
A call to all members. I would like the Bulletin to be entertaining. informative, uplifting and fun.

To achieve that we need contributions from members. I can add endless stories about rowing but know that members are involved in interesting projects, undertaking great trips and adventures, reading excellent books and seeing great movies and television that the rest of us would like to hear about. Stories and images please.

Did someone mention rowing?? Having a great season with my Macleans boys crews. Two golds and a silver at the recent North Island Club Champs.
It's a tough sport. There are no shortcuts and even with the best effort possible you cant always expect to win.
However all that commitment will pay off in other ways. Not a bad metaphor for life.

At the end of a winning race.               Happiness is a Gold medal winning cox.
Sculpture

Many members will have seen that we have a full page in the latest Rotary Down Under on the walkway and anniversary sculpture.

Its a very positive report and well worth checking out if you have not yet seen it.
