David Wardell reported on the steps taken to establish a Satellite Club under the umbrella of Pakuranga Rotary.  The RI law changes making this possible have been available for two years and other clubs e.g. Henderson have already experienced the benefits of such change. In our case, largely through the hard grafting done by Sylvie Wilkinson, 15 potential members are in place ranging in age from 18 to 60! 14 of these are women.  Under the general guidance of a steering committee (Bill Boyd, Mary Taylor and David Wardell) this club intends to meet fortnightly at Waipuna from 5.00 – 6.30 p.m. under the leadership of Chair, Fiona Smith.  It is to be named Pakuranga Tamaki River Rotary Auxilliary. Part sponsorship of the youngest members of the new club has been offered by Peter Armstrong, Bill Duncan and Duncan Loney.  This is greatly appreciated.

Induction of the satellite club members is to take place on Monday 11 June.  More details will follow but our members are encouraged to be present for this auspicious new initiative.
