The news media and in particular the alternative media all look to attract customers.
What research shows and what they all know, is that doom and disaster, salacious details and outrage all attract customers more effectively than reports of positive plans or outcomes. It's easy to get trapped in the cycle of despair, thinking that things are not as good as they once were and concerned about the trajectory of the future.
Therefore it was a great tonic to have as our guest speaker at our last meeting, Deanna Louis, a young doctor whose positive outlook and desire to make the world as a better place. There is a full report in the body of the Bulletin.
Deanna is not unique and that enthusiasm can be found across all ages and stages of our country and as an organisation we can and do add to that enthusiasm. We do that by funding those who need that hand up, by providing opportunities for many of our great young people to work together and for others and by working as an organisation to tackle those large world problems that cant be solved as individuals.
