I suspect that when Bill last addressed the club that members were deeply concerned about his rapidly fading health.
Nevertheless the announcement of his death on the 22nd of January came as a shock.
Past and current club members joined Bills family, other friends and Rotarians from far and wide at a celebration of his life at St Columbia Presbyterian Church on Thursday January. I am sure everyone there and those joining by Zoom can not have helped but be impressed by the quality of the tributes, the music [chosen by Bill] and the wonderful attention too detail in the organisation
Over the next months much will be written about Bill, his life and the contribution he made, in publications with considerably greater circulation than our bulletin. I know that our members and bulletin subscribers need little reminder of what a wonderful husband, family man, club member and contributor to Rotary on the world stage that Bill was. The thoughts of all members are with Lorna and family.
In the Bulletin that follows is a tribute from Bill Duncan and some photos of the day.
