Speaker: Bryan Leyland
Topic: Net Zero: The Dream and the Reality
Bryan Leyland MSc, DistFEngNZ, FIMechE, FIEE(rtd) is a power systems engineer with more than 50 years experience in New Zealand and overseas. He is very critical of the existing electricity market (even though the small Hydro scheme that he is part owner of, makes money from it) and he has serious concerns about the security of power supply in New Zealand. He has studied man-made global warming for more than 25 years and, in spite of trying very hard, has failed to find anyone who can present him with convincing evidence that man-made greenhouse gases cause dangerous global warming.
His presentation is entitled “Net Zero: the Dream and the Reality”. He explained that nothing that New Zealand does can change our climate so we are spending a huge amount of money on pursuit of a goal that is unattainable. He will also discuss the electricity situation and what the government needs to do to reduce the risk of rotating blackouts.
This will be a great speaker to invite friends and relatives to hear what he has to say.
