Matt Poland of Auckland Transport - AMETI projects

Speaker this week was Matt Poland of Auckland Transport who gave us a comprehensive update of the AMETI projects – there are actually 4 stages, the first being the completion of the Panmure Transit Station.  The next stage, already underway with archaeological exploration of the Mokoia Pa site, will provide rapid bus access (and wider pedestrian and cycle thoroughfare) along Lagoon Drive, across a new bus-only bridge to Pakuranga Plaza.  Graphic representation showed very attractive settings for this stage – still a couple of years away to completion.

Tip Top Schools this weekend

Decision pending!  Watch for notice tomorrow.
If cancelled, we will need cool storage – freezer space - for 500 sausages (10 boxes).  Any offers? Decisions will also need to be made about disposal of left-over soft-drinks and water from the Carnival Day. Ice-creams will not be an issue.
If we go ahead – I’m still open to offers to fill a couple of gaps in the labour force!  Ring 575 4406

Battery Recycling Scheme Announced

Your Environment Committee encourages to bring your old and flat dry cell batteries to Rotary , and we will have them recycled.

The box will be near our Rotary reception at every meeting.

Please do not put these batteries in your rubbish  as they are bad pollutants.

If the batteries are already leaking, we do not want them!

Help us make this event a Rotary experience our guests will never forget.
